Merge Kingdom Early Economy Guide: Grow Fast in Your First Week
Overview
Your first week in Merge Kingdom sets the pace for everything after. Manage your energy and merge chains well and you'll snowball; waste them and you'll stall. This guide covers the early economy decisions that matter most.

The Three Early Resources
- Energy: Powers your spawners. Your bottleneck resource early on.
- Coins: Buy items and unlock features.
- Board space: Free tiles are effectively a fourth resource.
Spend Energy Only With a Plan
Don't tap spawners just because you have energy. Only spawn when you have room to merge the output immediately. Spawning into a full board wastes both energy and space.
Build Merge Chains, Not Piles
The goal is always to move items up a tier, not accumulate low-tier clutter. Every time you have three matching items, merge them. A board of high-tier items is worth far more than a board of low-tier ones.
Coin Discipline
Early coins are precious. Spend them on permanent upgrades — extra board space or energy capacity — before cosmetic or convenience buys. Selling duplicate low-tier items you'll never use is a fine early coin source.
Complete Quests for Momentum
Quests hand you energy, coins, and rewards that compound. Prioritize quest objectives over free-form merging — they guide you toward efficient growth.
A Simple First-Week Routine
Start each session by collecting completed quest rewards, then spend energy on the spawner that advances those quests. Merge the output before tapping again, sell one low-tier duplicate if the board tightens, and finish by putting coins into space or energy capacity. This short loop keeps every resource moving instead of letting one of them cap.
