Merge Kingdom Levels 11-20 Progression Guide: Clear Board Jams and Grow Faster
Fun challenge: Keep at least eight empty tiles before tapping an event spawner.
Overview
Levels 11-20 are where Merge Kingdom boards start to feel crowded. New generators, quest chains, and event items all compete for the same limited space. Players who fail usually do not lack energy; they run out of room and then make panic merges that break valuable chains.
This progression guide keeps your board focused: finish quests, protect open tiles, and buy upgrades that permanently remove bottlenecks.
Levels 11-20 Progression Map
| Levels | Unlock or pressure | Best progression move |
|---|---|---|
| 11-12 | More generator variety | Group generators by active quest |
| 13-14 | Longer merge chains | Reserve center space for tier jumps |
| 15-16 | Coin choices and board clutter | Buy space before convenience items |
| 17-18 | Event items enter the board | Create a temporary event corner |
| 19-20 | Multi-step kingdom tasks | Complete quests in small batches |
Levels 11-12: Group Generators by Quest
Do not arrange every generator in one long row. Put the generators tied to current quests near the merge zone, and move idle generators toward storage. This shortens the distance between spawning, matching, and completing objectives.
If two generators produce the same chain, keep them adjacent. Tapping them in turns makes matching pieces easier to compare.
Levels 13-14: Reserve the Center
Longer merge chains need room to breathe. Keep the center of the board as a workbench and place finished quest items around the edge. A common mistake is filling the center with one-of-each pieces, which leaves no room for a five-item merge.
Levels 15-16: Buy Permanent Space First
Coins can buy tempting convenience items, but board space and energy capacity affect every chain. If you are deciding between a cosmetic bundle and an extra tile, take the tile. More space reduces selling mistakes and makes events less stressful.
Sell duplicate low-tier pieces only after checking the next quest preview. The goal is not an empty board; the goal is an organized board with room to combine.
Levels 17-18: Make an Event Corner
Event items can overrun normal chains if they spread across the board. Create one event corner and keep all event pieces there until you can merge them. Do not mix event items into the main merge zone unless the event objective is active.
Levels 19-20: Complete Quests in Batches
Late multi-step tasks reward planning. Read the quest list, work on chains that overlap, and turn in completed quests together when possible. Turning in one quest too early can replace it with a task you are not prepared for.
Upgrade Order
- Board space.
- Energy capacity or energy recovery.
- Generator inventory when the same chain repeatedly blocks quests.
- Convenience and cosmetic upgrades after the board feels stable.
Quick Tips Recap
- Keep active generators near the merge zone and idle generators away from it.
- Treat the center as a workbench, not storage.
- Buy permanent space and energy upgrades before convenience items.
- Contain event pieces in one corner or row.
- Batch quests when several objectives overlap.
